Patient position: supine with lower leg
hanging off the table
Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex to
the proximal third of the thigh.
While stabilizing the base of the tape,
pull the skin superiorly to increase
tissue tension.
Apply the other end of the Kinesio
Tex to the superior aspect of the
knee.
Place the patient’s foot on the table
and flex the knee to assume the
hooklying position.
Peel the Kinesio Tex from the paper
liner and place the tape temporarily
on the skin. Do not activate the glue
by rubbing.
Apply the remaining end of the
Kinesio Tex to the tibial tuberosity.
Completed Kinesio Tex application:
