simple written and spoken instructions. This worksheet is
designed to be used in conjunction with unit 7.1.

Students match the two halves of the imperative sentences. Elicit
answers from the class.
Answers:
a) Please turn off your mobile phone; b) Use a good

and sit down; f) Don’t get up late on Saturday!; g) Don’t watch TV all
weekend!; h) Please speak English.

Students write their own imperatives. Monitor as they work to check
accuracy and also to help with any vocabulary needed. Students share
their imperatives with a partner and practise saying them. Ask for class
feedback and write a selection of the imperatives for each verb on the
board.
